Description

The purpose of this competition is to evaluate the student's ability, skill, and knowledge of computer character animation using Autodesk Maya. In this competition, you will deal with the creation and animation of characters and models used in storytelling. Students must create an animation presenting the competition theme using original characters they have created. Please keep file size under 10MB.

Competition Theme: Introducing Your World. Students are to create a new character or creature. Get as detailed as possible while utilizing available texture, shading, lighting, etc. to enhance the reality of your character. Also demonstrate your character in movement. Please offer an audio voiceover to further explain your character.

Theme

Competition Theme: Introducing Your World. Students are to create a new character or creature. Animation Solutions are to be 640 by 480 Pixel SWF
Please compress the file to under 10 MB if possible. Example: 70% Cinepak Codec compression.

Response: You can use any version of the software to enter as long as it is legally owned by either the student or the school. Question Two: Can I use a Trial Version of the software to enter? Response: Yes, as long as it will save to a file that we are requesting. Question Three: Can I work with a partner(s) on this competition? Response: Yes, you can work with a maximum of 5 students in a group, however the prize must be shared.
